ACTIVITY GROUPS

As with the Social Groups, the Association actively encourages and supports a variety of vocational interest groups such as crafts, rifle shooting, boating, bowls, walking, gardening, fishing and pottery.Felixstowe Shooters show off their trophies after winning against Lowestoft Shooters

In the large conurbation of Lowestoft these activities are coordinated through:



Across the rest of East Suffolk they tend to be spin-offs from one of the Social Groups, and are largely self supporting.

Each year the Lowestoft Blind Bowls Club hold a week long competition, which is attended by Blind Bowls Clubs from around the country.  This event is very popular and successful.

The Felixstowe Blind Shooting Club meet every 2 weeks and recently three of its members entered the national championship in Wolverhampton and one of them became English and UK Champion for 2010, which is a fabulous achievement.

It is also worth noting that increasingly, local cinemas and theatres are putting on performances of shows using audio description specifically for the visually impaired.
