As with the Social Groups, the association actively encourages and supports a variety of vocational interest groups such as crafts, rifle shooting, boating, bowls, walking, gardening, fishing and pottery.

In the large conurbation of Lowestoft these activities are coordinated through:
• Lowestoft Visually Impaired Activities Group
• Lowestoft Live Arts
• Lowestoft Blind Bowls Club
Across the rest of East Suffolk they tend to be spin-offs from one of the Social Groups, and are largely self supporting.
Each year the Lowestoft Blind Bowls Club hold a week long competition, which is attended by Blind Bowls Clubs from around the country. This event is very popular and successful.

The Felixstowe Blind Rifle Club meet every 2 weeks and recently three of its members entered a national championship in Wolverhampton, acquitting themselves extremely well.

It is also worth noting that increasingly, local cinemas and theatres are putting on performance of shows using audio description specifically for the visually impaired.
