Welcome
to the East Suffolk Association for the Blind (ESAB) web-site.
The Association works across East Suffolk from Shotley in the south to
Lowestoft in the north and from the coast inland to Eye. As a
charity, we raise all of our funds ourselves and use them to provide
support for around 1450 local blind and partially sighted people in
East Suffolk.
The Association aims to provide welfare across the age spectrum, but
inevitably the vast majority of our members are in the older age
bracket. We do not currently deliver services specifically
for children and young people. However we can signpost
parents and carers to other organisations who do, including voluntary
organisations, local authorities, education and library departments,
and carer organisations.
We work closely with the Sensory Support Team of Suffolk County Council
Social Services and the national blind charities such as the Royal
National Institute for the Blind, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Action for
Blind People and St. Dunstan’s
